Shamsi Workshop



Together with local trainees, we set up a workshop and training hub on how to build and use the Shamsi solar solution!
​We have held hands-on training sessions together with local communities and craftspeople on how to use and build Shamsi. The village women are trained to be part of the production line and assembly process. Their self-sufficiency is a key goal of this project from the beginning. We have introduced the tested model to a community in central Egypt and built 50 Shamsi units.
Next to the production, we have a Shamsi Communal Kitchen in the Life Vision Center, cooking and baking local recipes. The trainings are held at the center.

Train how to build Shamsi units

We facilitate building workshops with step-by-step guides on how to build new Shamsi units out of health-safe, cheap and local materials, integrating local know-how.
We will train local craftspeople and community members, providing them with the tools and knowledge to start building the Shamsi solar solution locally.









Shamsi Communal Kitchen -
Solar cooking & baking in town

Learn how to cook & bake with the power of the sun. We will have solar cooking and baking workshops to train how to use the solar oven and cooker. We will set up a communal kitchen, where the units can be accessed and used collectively. The community members can use the shared units at the Shamsi kitchen per PayGo. So you can pass by and bake your bread and pay a small fee. The fee refunds the building costs and can be the start of a local business around clean energy.
